Enda O’Coineen will give a talk on his extraordinary ATLANTIC adventures in 2015 and taking (much to his surprise) the first ever Irish podium position in the World Championship Ocean Master Race from the Caribbean to France finishing in the Bay of Biscay storms last December.
Enda will also talk about his preparations for the Vendee Globe around the World race which starts from France on the 6th November. It is a non-stop, singlehanded race that has been described as the 'Everest of the Seas'. In addition to being a personal Odyssey and "Bucket list" to do adventure, Enda is also using his participation to promote and develop the ATLANTIC Youth Trust Charity to connect youth with the ocean, the maritime and adventure.
All Members and friends are invited to come along and view Kilcullen Team Ireland, the 60ft yacht which will be alongside the RIYC this coming SUNDAY 4th September from 1100 hrs to 1430 hrs, this most unusual and impressive craft has been fitted out for singlehanded sailing.
The following day she departs Dun Laoghaire for France and a final period in the yard in preparation for the Vendee Globe.
